Installation guide for LS1028A

I will comment more after my short vacation (next week), but FWIW I’ve been seeing the same fsck problem during testing from SD card. It looks like there is some unclean write during shutdown and fsck is triggered every time. This goes away when booting from SATA SSD or eMMC via SD card, because in that case the SD card root partition is not written to.

sorry about the delay, real life got in the way.

I’ve now got it successfully booting void linux. Basically I ran reform-migrate on a blank sda3, then formatted sda3 and installed void using the rootfs/chroot method.

I have updated the lpc but I’m still seeing the issues with the reset function and the display (oled) appearing not to time out, and ive also had a few full lockups which I think may be due to the som overheating, though I cant be sure as there appears not to be any temp sensors. I’ve reseated the hs and tightened the screws as much as I can. Are there any design files for the ls1028a heatsink?

Hmm, normally there is a temp sensor, Linux QORIQ_THERMAL module. Maybe it’s not loaded or you need to spelunk in sysfs for the thermal zone?

As to the heatsink sources, thanks for the reminder—I had forgotten to push them. They are now here (“generic” heatsink as OpenSCAD/FreeCAD/STEP): reform2-heatsink · master · Reform / reform · GitLab
