Missing parts from rcore kit?

so I received my long awaited rcore upgrade kit. I’ve looked through the parts and parts list, and two things jump out at me:

there doesn’t appear to be a wifi antenna in the kit, though the parts list mentions one and the acrylic mount is there.

there doesn’t appear to be a copper heatsink in the kit, also mentioned in the parts list. There is a flat black metal plate that I suppose could be a heatsink but it doesn’t look like copper or any heatsink i’ve ever seen in my life because it’s completely flat.

Any clarification would be appreciated.

Sorry, this is due to us lagging behind on updating the manual.

  • About the Wi-Fi antenna and the acrylic: this is from the time when there was an internal HDMI adapter required for the RK3588, and this interfered with the old antenna location, which is no longer the case. That means you can keep your existing Wi-Fi and antenna solution in place. Or are you missing any parts for your existing Wi-Fi?
  • The heatsink: we very recently switched the heatsink to black anodized aluminum because we had many production issues with the copper, where they were stained with fingerprints from the factory, requiring manual sanding, and also the copper corroding in some people’s machines depending, presumably, on their climate. The aluminum version is meant to more care-free, and is also a bit lighter.

That’s great, thanks. just was a bit confused by the heatsink being completely flat, I’ve never seen one without fins or at minimum, ridges.

For those who are curious, this is how the copper heat sink can end up looking after some while:

that’s the sort of heatsink I was expecting, with ridges to increase surface area (since there’s no space for actual fins). That’s why I didn’t make the connection between the metal plate and a heatsink (though the mention of copper was further confusing) and asked for clarification. A completely flat piece of metal doesn’t make me think ‘heatsink’ straight awa,y because I’ve never seen one like that. I can understand that it will work to a point, since the intent is to absorb heat, and the surface area is simply to aid radiating it to the surroundings.
