if you can ask where they bought them that’d be amazing, alternatively if they don’t remember or they’re not available online, and if you’re willing to, message me and i’d like to discuss sending you money to buy and ship one to me.

One main usecase for my pocket reform is recording and editing readings for librivox.org.
First of all I like that it’s fan-less and so there is no disturbing noise when recording (…prior to the mnt I used to record on a field recorder). And I’m free to go e.g. in the garden to edit the recordings.
To optimize the pocket reform for that purpose I did some “improvements”:
At first the bluetooth connectivity was weak. I could’t even use a bt headphone. So I installed a second bluetooth/wifi antenna, which indeed was a great improvement.
Then I slightly extended the capacity of the batteries by 25%. I made some holders so that I was able to use larger batteries.
And I use the spare M2 slot for an sd card interface on which I make automated backups of my data.
The pocket reform is the only computer I use (…there are two ancient Thinkpads now on the shelf). Besides recording I use the mnt for all about 3D printing, designing circuit boards (…e.g. for that mic you see in the pic), graphics and of coarse all that daily stuff. And -not to forget- tinkering with linux and the pocket itself!
For some tasks I use a usb docking station with mouse and keyboard and a larger screen.

It’s my living room laptop. In the evenings, we like to sit and read or do light computer stuff before bedtime. My wife sits on the sofa and I sit on the floor, with the Pocket Reform. With Wifi reception being meh, I’ve switched to an ethernet cable when at home.
The Pocket Reform is also the emergency laptop I bring along on holidays, just in case I need to ssh into my server and block some scraper bots.

also blocking scraper bots is so real. i set up an automated AbuseIPDB pull with cron so i wouldn’t have to touch the thing.
