Does the Reform work with m.2 SATA SSDs as well, or must they be NVME?

For any who are coming looking for this information in the future, let me share the answer I was able to get from Lukas via IRC:

The Reform can only use NVME with the current CPU.

Yeah, it’s only got a single 1x PCIe 2.0 lane going to the connector, there’s no built in SATA on the SoC so that’s not routed to there. You’re not going to get NVME speeds out of the SSD but an NVME one is required for the setup.
