RK3588 installation/packaging question

I’m considering ordering an RK3588, and have some questions I can’t find answers do in the docs.

Does this board interfere with either of the two PCI sockets, in the way the im8xm does?

The RK3588 module will have two PCIe slots, see the modularity table.

Yes! I read that, and is a large part of why I chose Reform.

I asked however because from what I read the A311D physically interferes with the adjacent PCIe slot, requiring moving my long NVME to the short slot, using an adapter.

A limitation like this would be listed on the product page within the shop.

If we go to the kicad source page on the gitlab we can find in-depth details.

  • 1x PCIe 3.0 with 4 lanes (routed to M.2 slot on MNT Reform)
  • 1x PCIe 2.0 with 1 lane (routed to mPCIe slot on MNT Reform)

edit: Perhaps there is some confusion, the A311D card does not physically block access to the m.2 slot, it is an electrical/hardware limitation.
It does not have enough PCIE lanes, and routes the one lane it has to the mPCIe slot instead leaving no lanes connected to the m.2 slot.

Ahh cool, I misunderstood the A311D PCIe issue. But in the end, there’s only one usable PCIe slot, once installed. This is why I was asking about similar restrictions on PCIe with the RK3588.
