Status of suspend/wake on MNT Pocket Reform

Actually I was assuming less.

The basic concept here is that if you have 2 accelerometers, one in the top half and one in the bottom and they’re in more or less the same orientation in relation to their respective halves, when they both read roughly the same values then you know that they’re parallel to each other and thus the lid is shut.

That tells me that my concern was wrong as you have 2 sensors that you are using. Clever idea indeed.

Some more ignorance on my part, but does the Pocket come with an accelerometer already from the shop?

Again, look at the blog post because:

  • the plan is to use 2 but I’ve only actually implemented 1
  • it’s still in a fairly rudimentary state because I’ve needed to rebase my changes on the most recent sysctl refactor which has introduced a bug I haven’t had the time to chase down.
  • I don’t freeze the system
  • The pocket doesn’t come with an accelerometer, what I used and how I’ve fitted it are covered in the post which also explains why I’m not using 2 yet.
