Application & Practicality of E-Ink Display

The Pocket could also prospectively be a minimal, robust, eye-friendly network and document tool, typewriter-esque. Great for travel or whatever life throws your way.

There is this open-hardware “blazing fast for an e-paper device” display option: Inkplate 6 MOTION - “aimed to be released this year”.

I am not particularly tech-savvy but would be willing to invest time and resources. Thoughts? Nuances? Alternatives?

Healthy regards

Looks pretty cool! Would need a custom bezel and I didn’t really look at how this is connected as a display. SPI?

“Additional GPIO pins, easyC / Qwiic compatibility, and support for I²C and SPI”

So, afaik, Dasung makes the best eInk displays. They’re extremely expensive, but they are far faster than the Inkplate.

I hesitate to link to any reviews without watching them first, but a product demo from Dasung that I watched kind of shows the quality of their monitors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c44sawX5WIE

Nice displays, yes, if only they were non-proprietary tech…

Color e-paper is desirable though
