Bought used mnt pocket reform

Hello all, first of all, I want to thank you for this forum.

I am so happy I finally bought a mnt Pocket Reform off of eBay and now I was wondering if I can upgrade the arm cortex processor?

Also what should I be concerned about?

I think it was the first revision I bought.

I currently had 8GB can I upgrade the ram?

I’d love to see a handbook, which one is suitable for this?

Anything else I should be aware of?

Also: if I mess something up, can I order some spare parts or pick them up in Berlin?

As I don’t have a original recipe for it, I was wondering if I get any support or something in case I need replacement parts which aren’t available on the store.

Thanks so much.

Welcome to the forum!

Yes. Right now the maximum off-the-shelf upgrade is the RK3588: MNT Pocket Reform Upgrade Bundle - MNT Research Shop

Depends. What do you have in mind?

Since you mentioned 8 GB ram, you probably have the version with i.mx8m+. You can find out by looking at the output of:

cat /proc/device-tree/model

These kind of embedded boards (think raspberry pi) have the RAM soldered onto the board, so in contrast to desktop PCs, there are no dedicated RAM bars that you can swap. With RK3588 you can choose between 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM soldered onto the board.

This kind of question is really hard to answer.

Yes, you can by spare parts either from MNT or from any other source that sells them.

You would have to contact MNT about this via this form: https://support.mnt.re/

It arrived, and got it working.

Now I have some smaller questions, can I ask them in the reform-chat?

I don’t know what to do first now.

I wanted to migrate to the nee nvme but don’t know if I should do something before that first?

As I don’t have a big sd card I can’t Flash the images provided by you.

Is there another solution?
