I am happily using my Pocket Reform that I got recently, and wanted to have a longer cable for USB-C charging. Some short (1m) cables I have work without any issues, but I bought several different ugreen brand usb-c cables in 2m length, and none of those managed to charge the Pocket Reform. I searched the community here but could not find any info; can anyone recommend me a 2m long USB-C cable that they can confirm working with the Pocket?
Seconding the Anker recommendation, but Ugreen should be fine, their quality seems OK. You may want to try a different charger if you have one. It’s possible that your current charger is having some kind of issue with the longer cables.
I use the Anker 735 65W charger, I thought it should be fine, as it is one of those recommended ones (I think). Also same result with other chargers like Apple 65w brick. I will try others!
That should be fine and if you’ve tested two chargers then it’s more likely to be a cable issue. Do you know if the cables are rated for a particular wattage? It looks like UGREEN makes PD-rated cables but they also make “fast charging” cables that seem to only support 18W.
The first one I tried was 240W rated and the second 100W PD, I really don’t understand why it didn’t work. The Anker 65w charger seems to work fine with my lower quality cables (but shorter)
That’s weird but it isn’t the first time I’ve encountered something like this with USB-C. Could be slightly out-of-spec cables, and perhaps the Pocket Reform is not willing to tolerate it while other devices will? (Do you get fast charging on other devices with these cables?)
