Hi Community!
I mentioned this in the thread about @jbmorley’s awesome Pocket Reform panel, but I’m starting this as a new thread to get the conversation going! I have a lead on a small machine shop in California that’s owned by a friend of a friend, and I’d like to get some custom Reform parts made.
I’m thinking this would be more of a decorative run of the smaller parts, so unless there’s overwhelming demand for structural parts with threading, we’ll try and keep it simple to start:
Pocket Reform display backplate
Classic Reform keyboard bezel
Classic Reform display bezel
Classic Reform bottom plate
If we want anodization, we need to decide on colors as a group. I’m told per batch of parts it’s an extra $100 so if that’s split between only a few parts it could add significant cost to each component. I’d like to keep it to black and purple but again, let me know what you’d order and I can get quotes together.
To start: let me know what you want to order from the parts above, in black or purple, and where you are in the world.
I’d be interested in pocket display backplate (and a bottom plate). As well as a classic bottom plate.
All in black.
Might be too much to ask but in the long term I’d like a whole pocket shell in black. I liked the idea of a purple pocket more than I do IRL. I think its mostly I find it hard getting a keyboard color that feels right to me.
edit: Plain is cool, maybe a makerspace with a laser could etch a design in.
Thanks for the response, in that case I would like to sign up for a black Pocket Reform back display cover. I am in Germany, but would be getting mine shipped to what is considered a US address.
@bnys I really appreciate the logistical support this is going to require on your part. It is much appreciated!
