Don't automatically blame MNT 🙂

I’ve been struggling to find out why my MNT laptop had been stuttering, freezing and hard-crashing when the network traffic rose for the past few days. I thought maybe the kernel had been upgraded and there was some new bug in the wifi driver or something, especially since other people report the same symptoms (high CPU on IRQ threads).

Turns out, I had enabled verbose logging on ufw to solve some network issue and forgot to turn it off.

I would not have automatically assumed something buggy with any of my x86 machines. The moral of the story is, just because the hardware is different doesn’t mean you’re not the one responsible for your problems :slightly_smiling_face:

in fairness the issue was much more noticeable than it would have been on x86 because of Reform being ARM. You probably wouldn’t have even been aware of it on a reasonably modern x86, so it’s good in the sense that your attention was drawn.
