I just wanted to share that while working on my project, I accidentally injected 26V from my power supply through the USB port of my MNT Reform. There was a smell of smoke and, of course, panic. The laptop shut down immediately, so I started inspecting for damage: the mouse board was fried, and some SMD resistors had tombstoned—it was really unsettling to see under the microscope.
When I restarted the laptop, the only damage turned out to be the mouse. The MNT Team sent me a replacement in less than a week, and I’ve just installed it and now business as usual. This is what I call a German Quality!
Just to be safe, I’ve ordered a backup motherboard—you never know what might happen in the future. (Currently, I’m dreaming of building an Analog QC, where the voltages can reach 500V!)
