HDMI port unresponsive

Nothing at all happens when I plug in HDMI. I have checked wlr-randr and swaymsg. When I run dmesg I see a lot of this

[ 24.334249] hdmi-audio-codec hdmi-audio-codec.4.auto: HDMI: Unknown ELD version 0

repeated dozens of times, which come up during the startup sequence. This only mentions audio of course but it could be related.

Yes, I know my cable works, and I have tried booting with it plugged in.

Any support appreciated

I think this hdmi-audio-codec is a result of a recent DTS change, it appears the same way also on a working HDMI.

I had similar issue to yours, ended up sending the Pocket for warranty repair, MNT told me that the Rockhip module itself was faulty, they replaced it and now it works. Pocket RK3588 HDMi port

I might have to do the same, then

These errors are unfortunately normal (I hope they get cleaned up in the next release).

  • did HDMI work before?
  • which kernel are you on exactly?
  • can you try some other cable(s)/monitor(s)?

This is the first time I tried HDMI, not had the device long.

Not tried other cables, only have one micro hdmi adapter. The one I have definitely works on other devices, so I’m not too keen on randomly buying more and hoping, but if you can recommend an affordable cable/adapter that definitely works on Pocket Reform, perhaps I can try it

Hey, I think I raised this issue in the support.mnt.re form last week. I don’t seem to have any email confirmation of a ticket or anything. I don’t mind waiting to be attended but are you able to confirm that I’m in the queue?

Yes, unfortunately I had to disable the greeting auto-responder recently because someone at DHL guessed the ingress email address and wrote there with an email that itself had an auto responder, so there was a huge mess with 400 auto-respond-loop emails. I hope I find time to fix this very soon. In any case I just found your ticket (684).

Before we do a warranty inspection, can you try flashing this system image to MicroSD and boot it and connect HDMI in the Setup Wizard, to see if the screen comes on or not?

Thanks for looking at this. I booted that image and no change, nothing at all happens when HDMI is connected.

It has been well over a month since I raised this issue and I have not heard back on my support ticket or on this forum since this post. I’d appreciate a response please

Sorry for that! I think the only remaining option is to do a free warranty return/inspection+repair. I’ll instruct my colleague to get this started for you.
