I currently have a Reform with the A311D installed. I love it and I use it all the time, but the only thing keeping it from being a true daily driver is the lack of solid suspend/resume support. I know it works for some people but my system will not wake after I suspend it. This seems to be a known problem with how the clocks are configured.
It sounds like the RK3588 has much better Linux support. How is suspend resume working for that one? I will definitely order one if it means I can put my laptop to sleep.
I checked some Chinese forums and suspend and resume does supported on rk3588, but there isn’t much information about how well suspend and resume worked on rk3588.
Hello! Feels worthwhile reviving this thread. I personally just got an rk3588 on my pocket reform, and of course the new Reform Next is coming out using rk3588 modules by default.
Suspending/resuming feels like the biggest blocker on having these devices be easy to travel around with. I’m curious, @kaybarkbark did you look further at the patch series? Did anyone else?
Hello again! Which patch series are you referring to? Are there patches for the Amlogic or Rockchip chipset? I am currently dealing with a critical lack of spoons but perhaps I can find the energy to give them a try.
Ah I meant [PATCH v3 0/8] RK3588 ADC support linked above! Though… tbh I wouldn’t know what to do with it, and it’s a bit hard for me to tell with LKML whether those patches were merged, etc
It’s a-ok if you don’t have the spoons to deal with it also! Prioritize your own well being <3
