KDE and Gnome not launching

(Preface) Hi everyone I have just transitioned from Windows OS to Linux for the first time and am using the MNT Reform DIY kit (wifi card + antenna, stock ssd).

The issue started yesterday, had been using the preinstalled KDE environment the entire day, shutdown the Reform and rebooted it the next day. Come to find out only the GUI heavy environments were effected. reform-windowmaker is fine, sway is fine.

When I launch KDE the last line of code to be mentioned is:

“kdeinit5: Launched KLauncher, pid = 880, result = 0
No backend specified, automatically choosing drm”

Followed by a black screen with the kde cursor. Anyone have time to walk me through this one?
