Hi,
since I finaly have (some) time to play with the pocket reform (rockchip 32GB model) and get it running to and configured.
I got a StarTech micro-HDMI to HDMI, however sofar i was not able to get a working signal.
With every monitor i tried (3 different 27” 1440p, and a 32” 4K/120Hz monitor with different cables) I do get a signal sofar as see the the monitor resolutions correctly in wlr-randr/nwg-displays/gnome displays utility and it thinks it has output and moves a virtual desktop to it but the monitor complains about “No Signal”.
Does anybody have ideas on what’s going wrong here and/or suggestions for known good adapters?
thanks
PS: i tried with both sway and gnome3 and also both booting from my (updated) installation on the nvme drive aswell as from a current (as of 2026-01-06) sd card image
I have a " Seadream Micro HDMI Type D Male to Mini HDMI Type C Male" cable and use it daily.
I wish I could give you a not-Amazon link that was precise, but I can’t; I don’t know if the searches on other sites are turning up quite the same cable or not, it doesn’t have a part number per se.
I got an adapter from Cable Matters, and I have the same issue (also on a Pocket w/RK3588), but only with one monitor (Gigabyte M27QX). I get the correct info from wlr-randras well. It works just fine for other monitors, even those with a higher resolution and bit rate, so I have no idea what is going on. I was planning to get another adapter to chain with this one to test it with other computers, but haven’t got around to that yet
thanks for the recommendation…since one of the usecases i would like to use my pocket for would be for conferences and there replacing the cable is not always a good option i would prefer and adapter but i will have a look if i can source the cable for home use.
Oh, I’m sorry, I even read adapter but then I gave you the wrong answer! The adapter I use (with an HDMI female port) is “UGREEN Micro HDMI to HDMI Adapter, Male to Female Cable HDMI 2.0 4K@60Hz HDR 3D Dolby 18Gbps High Speed Compatible with Raspberry Pi 5/Pi 4/GoPro Hero 7 6/Retroid Pocket 3+, 0.6FT”. Again, I use it daily with no issues, on multiple third-party projectors.
