linux image packages are currently disabled because of a kernel 6.10.3 regression that can crash imx8mp during boot. I have been running test builds in the last days but will finish this hopefully tomorrow.
An update on the kernel situation: I’ve patched the 6.10.3 kernel so that it works fine now for me and at least one user on i.MX8MP Pocket Reform. So I merged that update and released it to our Debian repository again, so you should be able to upgrade the linux-image to version 6.10.3 now.
Hello again,
I managed to upgrade the system without any issues. It is true that after installing all the updates, I did a ‘sudo reboot’ and the system got stuck on a black screen. After some time, I forced a shutdown through the OLED screen menu, turned it back on, and everything worked as expected.
I’m pleased to report that the new kernel also boots just fine on an A311D pocket reform! Thank you. Didn’t have to force a shutdown or anything — maybe this is a real difference between i.MX8MP and A311D?
I’m waiting eagerly for a USB to UART adapter to come in so I can collect a boot log…
