I unfortunately did not check polarity carefully enough when attempting a battery upgrade on my Pocket Reform, and have apparently fried my computer. (I now know what magic smoke smells like)
Bypassing the charger board results in no lights, only a soft coil whine (?).
Is there a minimal number of components I can check and replace, or am I stuck buying a whole new computer?
EDIT: To clarify my exact question, can I get away with replacing the mainboard and the charging module to get this running again?
I’m thinking of using this as an excuse to upgrade to the Quasar and grab the 2.0 mainboard, a new charging module, and the 2.0 headset/switch board, would I need to check and replace any other parts of the machine that may have been exposed?
(I will be keeping the original batteries, having learned my lesson the hard way)
