I have addressed this in a support request, but wanted to share this with the group to see if anyone had received a very recent rev.5 zz9000 with a similar Zorro slot card-edge connector anomaly. This looks like a recipe for disaster if there is any mis-alignment. My previous three zz9000 boards purchased through MNT Shop looked nothing like this, a rev.4 and two rev.5 cards. Please let me know.
Hi, I understand that you’re worried about this, but we’ve tested the cards of this batch extensively and I couldn’t create a misalignment situation here. If you plug in the card and take it out again, you should be able to see where the teeth of the Zorro slot “bite” the pads and that they should be perfectly aligned. If that’s not the case, please get back in touch.
I believe the difference to the previous batch is just that the PCB house removed the soldermask between the pads.
