Questions about ZZ9000 Ethernet setup

I am trying to set up the Ethernet NIC. I have it working but not to my liking. It is slower than my Dlink USB100 through my Deneb when copying to my Qnap NAS. I have found no instructions of how to set it up.
Here is what I found.
Driver in Devs/networks/ZZ9000Net.device
Config file in Devs/NetInterfaces/ZZ9000Net
If I use Genesis, I immediately get
S2_Tracktype for IP: Command not Supporter
S2_Tracktype for ARP: Command not Supporter
If I open Ibrowse and do anything, I get
Sana-Output: Resource allocation failure.

When I ping Google 8.8.8.8, I get (Dups!).
I commented out everything in the config file except
iprequests =256. I increased them from 32
writerequests=256 I increased them from 32.
This seems to help with the pinging (Dups!)

When I try the latest AmiTCP from Icomp, I get the same Tracktype errors and (Dups!) errors but not the resource allocations errors.

If I use Miami, I got the (Dups!) until I uncommented device and unit in the ZZ9000Net config file.
It seems the driver uses this file or is it meant for the TCP stack software?

Finally, I was using SANAII monitor from Aminet. it worked fine with my usbasixeth.device driver but it fails to open the ZZ9000Net.device driver at all. i think this is due to the S2_Tracktype failure or non existence in the driver itself.

  • Amiga model: 4kT
  • 680x0 CPU: 060
  • RAM Configuration: 128MB 16MB onboard
  • Kickstart, AmigaOS Versions: 3.14 and OS3.13
  • ZZ9000 Firmware version:1.13
  • ZZ9000 Driver version:1.13
  • Monitor model: AOC
  • Other Zorro cards: Deneb USB

Hmm, so nobody knows how this works???

I can’t help you but i can confirm all the above. I also switched to using usbasixeth.device through triton. I raised this question myself more than a year ago - no help. Same symptoms on real A2000 (6.3), A2000EATX, A4000D and my current A4000TX - same ZZ9000 though.
