RCORE RK3588 CPU and reform2_lpc problem

I installed the RCORE CPU on the big Reform 2 and now getting this error in the “dmesg”:

Obviously the battery indicator does not work and the “poweroff” command does not shutdown the LPC.

After rebuilding the “reform-tools” and “reform2-lpc-dkms” packages nothing changed.

Is it normal? (i.e. something is unsupported for the rcore cpu)?

I updated the controller firmware once (when there was problem with battery indicator being at 100% all time) and everything worked until I changed the CPU. I have done a clean Debian insall, too.

This looks normal, except for the underflow.

Can you see the battery properties in sysfs?

That looks like the communication to sysctl never happened. The properties that would be read from sysctl are 0.

Given the underflow message it looks like there is some error with using the SPI bus but with only this it’s difficult to say what specifically.

It might be useful to paste the full dmesg to see if there is other error.

Underflow message diagnosis at Collabora

Interesting but it should be solved. I wonder if I am the only one with the rk3588 on the Reform and with this issue.

I have the RK3588 on my reform and I do NOT have this issue.

There are no messages from reform2_lpc on the dmesg output.

I installed a fresh system on the nvme drive from a new sd card image when I upgraded the CPU module.

If you know how to compile a kernel you can install linux-source-arm64 or whatever is the package that has the sources, unpack the source, apply the patch, copy the config from /boot, build the kernel.

Then you should have new spi-rockchip module. You can rmmod the current one, including all other modules that depend on it, insmod the new one, and see if that helps in any way.
