Hi, just wanted to ask about the charge controller on the v3.0 motherboard
I’m extremely wary of USB PD because of its use of bidrectional negotiation/communication on the power lines, which as far as I’m concerned is an unwelcome potential attack vector that’s very hard to defend against other than not using public chargers (which one shouldn’t in any case) and hoping the charger you just bought doesn’t do anything nefarious.
While looking at the MB 3.0 for other reasons (qiic fan mod), I noticed that the PD controller was listed as ‘firmwareless’. Does this mean that it would be potentially less/not vulnerable to a tampered charger?
