Reform (RK3588-32GB) and CAD possible?

Briefly about me: I have been working with Linux since SUSE 5.3. I have been using it for about 20 years for all office and other applications. In the meantime I have arrived at Bunsenlabs Boron. I only use Windows for CAD (Autodesk Inventor).

As my professional life is coming to an end, I am currently making the switch to FreeCad (under Bunsenlabs Boron). I like the idea of open source not only for software, but also for hardware. My question is therefore: is the combination of Reform and RK3588 suitable for light CAD projects (usually individual parts and small assemblies)?

I haven’t tested with the RK3588 yet, but it should be very comparable to an N100, which I have used successfully for light CAD work.

I can say that FreeCAD works fine on the RK3588 Reform. A commercial alternative that works is the web version of Onshape (in Chromium).

Hello mountain, hello minute,

thanks you for your assessment. That’s encouraging!

I’ve been using freecad for small parts on a311d and I haven’t had a problem! I think rk3588 would work totally fine
