Screen cleaning

Hi,

My screen looks dirty. It’s mostly fingers grease, even if i rub them carefully with a regular napkin after every meal. Whatever.

What is the best way to clean my screen without harming it ? Greasy stains tend to survive dry cleaning towels, and I fear that liquid products could damage it… Any thoughts, fellow MNT users ?

Hi, I do use two things to clean up, depend on screen size and what I do have at the moment. Mostly any type of screen cleaner with a mop combo. Frequently found at any technology oriented seller (where PC/Laptops/TVs are sold, they have them). Or if screen is not larger than 17", any glasses :sunglasses: cleaning napkin would do (available at your local optics store).

Thank you for you answer. I once read a user story about a cleaning liquid leaking between the layers of a laptop screen, breaking it. Those products seems to be purposedly made to clean computer screens, and I am reassured. I order a regular cleaning screen solution, with microfiber cloth. I’ll be cautious.

Yes, need to be careful with what liquid you clean it. Not every cleaning product is good for this job. From my experience, I recommend to apply not much solution, clean/wipe it and repeat of needed. Do not let the liquid to go into the bezel or other openings of the unit you’re cleaning. It might case some temporary gremlins to show up.

Yes, I’m cleaning everything with those (laptops/phones/displays/tvs), from the bezel, screen to the keyboard. Just apply carefully and if not confident, apply only to the cloth and then clean with it.

There is nothing better than a clean machine.
