Suspend vs. Hibernate A311D

Which feature do people think would be easier to get working on pocket reform with A311D, and why? I would guess Hibernate is easier because “all” one needs to do is hijack the normal boot process with a snapshot of ram, but I don’t know enough to be confident.

I (finally) have a UART to USB adapter so I can collect logs during the boot process and poke around. I’m happy to put substantial time into this but not particularly knowledgeable, so I want to try for whichever is easier.

I’m not that optimistic. On my (non-pocket) Reform Hibernate seems to work up to the point that the system returns to the state it had before hibernation. However, it freezes just moments later.

As the power draw of the pocket reform even when shutdown currently is quite high, standby would be dangerous while running out of battery and losing the data in memory. Hibernation would not have this restriction as it is a “normal” shutdown but with memory saved to disk.

Pretty sure you mean Hibernation here.

That is correct, sorry, edited.
