There was discussion on another post about using magnets instead of screws to access the internals. I love that idea, but don’t see a way to make it work without modifying the chassis.
I came up with an alternative idea to print pins that stay in with friction to replace the screws. I’ve been using them on my classic reform for the past week and none have fallen out, though they do wiggle out a little. Might glue them into the panel, because they do tend to fly everywhere when pulling the panel off. Haven’t tried them yet on any of the mini’s panels, but should work fine.
I thought a harder TPU would be ideal, but just haven’t gotten them to print consistently or without falling over. I settled on PETG as it seems a little more pliable than PLA. Open to other ideas, Nylon?
Anyway its on printables if you want to try for yourself.
