Trackball sensitivity

For some reason, the left/right sensitivity of the trackball appears to have dropped here - is there some way to modify that or look at how it is configured? I don’t think I’ve held down a key or anything that would have changed this, but I’m not sure what is going on.

You could try:

  1. Shutdown the system and power cycle the keyboard/trackball by flipping the power switch on the side. (A soft reset doesn’t necessarily get all components in a good state if a firmware bug or cosmic ray is the cause).

  2. Clean the sensor under the trackball - this could be a vertical thin object (hair, string, etc) partially blocking the sensor.

Thanks. I tried both, and it looks like the clean was the fix (removed top panel over keyboard and trackball, popped it out and wiped over).

I have thumb trackballs everywhere.

I habitually clean mine every two to three days. Usually while idling between jobs. It’s amazing the amount of gunk they build up.
