I received my Pocket Reform today and while setting it up the trackball has become extremely slow and when I roll the ball faster, it doesn’t move the cursor at all. It’s basically unusable right now as moving the cursor across the screen takes about 10 seconds.
I don’t think this is a cleaning issues since the device has only been in use for like 3h.
Any suggestions?
Ok, some additional information:
I did a full power cycle by shutting down and flipping the standby switch back and forth, then booting again.
After the first boot, the issue persisted for about a minute and then suddenly things returned to normal.
I know you mentioned cleaning, but I do find that tends to be the issue if mine (fullsized reform) does similar. It tends to be from things like a hair getting under the ball so sometimes just blowing on the ball can dislodge whatever happened below it.
If the issue should persist, we can also mail you a new trackball sensor.
Almost certainly cleaning. Dust and debris really affect the sensor. Sometimes turning the machine upside down and spinning the ball a bit helps.
