Wifi connected but no internet

I am having an issue with my Pocket Reform: even though it is connected to the wifi, the pocket reform seems to be not connected to the internet. There is some traffic according to the network tab of the system monitor, but otherwise no connection. I had a moment the day before when my pocket reform’s temps got quite high, so I am worried it could be hardware related. I thought I post this here and see maybe someone has an idea and suggestion for me? Thanks!

Edit: Ok, so, I might have accidentally messed with the network-manager, but now I don’t know how to reinstall the packages when not connected to the internet.

Do you have an adapter to connect your pocket reform via cable?

You could also try
sudo dpkg-reconfigure network-manager

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Triss

edit: corrected typo in shell command

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but no luck. I don’t have an adapter for ethernet unfortunately.

Also, now I get an error when booting: “Failed to start reform-hw-setup service”

I have the Pocket Reform with the i.MX8M Plus.

I’m sorry to hear that.
Unfortunately I’m not familiar with the hardware implementation, I just have a few years of experience with Debian

I guess the best for now would be to boot a live system, salvage your data and reinstall Debian.
Or maybe someone else here can help you with your hardware setup

If you have a USB hub that has ethernet you can get wired access by connecting the hub to a USB port on the reform (no need for a ix industrial adapter).

Great reminder, thanks, I will try that!
