Hello,
I bought my ZZ9000 with ZZ9000AX in January from Alinea Computers
received it in February, and been trying to make it work ever since
Card has manufacture date of 2024-01-18
- Amiga model: A1500 (mainboard it’s an A2000 rev 6.2)
- 680x0 CPU: 68030 TF536 placed directly in the 68000 socket via a riser
- RAM Configuration: 1Mb Chip, 12Mb fast: 4mb on TF536, 8Mb on GVP
- Kickstart, AmigaOS Versions: 3.1 or 3.1.4, Workbench 3.1, AGS
- ZZ9000 Firmware version: unknown
- ZZ9000 Driver version: tried 1.21.1 and 1.13
- Monitor model: compatible LCD which takes both SCART and HDMI
- Other Zorro cards: GVP+8 with BlueSCSI
My Amiga passess all tests in in DiagROM 1.3 and AmigaTestKit
RGB output is perfect.
The issue I have is:
Card shows heavy artifacting, like jailbars and wrong graphics through HDMI from the start.
On Kickstart 3.1.4 I will get an early boot message stating the card is faulty and disabled
On Kickstart 3.1 it will load the system, but if I install drivers, on 1.13 it wil display yellow message that firmware needs to be at least 1.13 and then screen will go black
On drivers 1.12.1 it will say yellow message that firmware needs to be at least 1.9
This is regardless of what BOOT.BIN is on the SD card.
I’ve tried BOOT.BIN that came with the card, and almost every version for A2000 and a few for A3000 to absolutely no change.
I’ve tried a different microSD, a Samsung 2Gb one. Formatted FAT32 MBR. No joy / no change in behaviour. I have ordered a SanDisk 4Gb to try that as well.
To deal with the graphical corruption I tried:
Removed everything from my Amiga, left only the ZZ9000 and original 68000. This made no difference whatsoever, for the obvious reason could not proceed any further (no hdd, and even with hdd drivers need at least a 68020)
Disabling RAM on the GVP means I can no longer load AGS, but under WB3.1 issues persist.
I have had the ZZ9000 in every Zorro slot available, to no change.
I tried removing everything else form the Amiga, to no help.
I checked chips if they are all sitting correctly, including the fpga on zz9000
I tried fooling about with the video out on my mainboard, but it appears solid as fiddling with it has no effect on the on-sceen artifacts whatsoever.
Also once, after boot and during loading workbench, I got a red artifacted screen. RGB output was black during this. This only happened once so far.
I am suspecting the SD card slot on the ZZ9000 to be possibly at fault
here’s link showing the artifacting and also one of the yellow messages
Ignore the DH0 error displayed, it is when I disable GVP RAM and AGS fails to load.
ZZtop 1.1 fails to recognise card
ZZtop 1.11 displays absolute bollox ![]()
Any help or guidance appreciated.
I am based in Scotland, between Edinburgh and Livingston.
