ZZ9000 Video Card Software

If you want to ask a technical support question, please include the following details. If not, you can delete all of this text.

  • Amiga model: Amiga Technologies A4000T
  • 680x0 CPU: Motorola 68060 Rev1
  • RAM Configuration: 256 Fast on TF4060, 8meg on MB, 2meg chip
  • Kickstart, AmigaOS Versions: KS 40.070 OS3.1
  • ZZ9000 Firmware version: 1.13 no fast ram
  • ZZ9000 Driver version: P96 3.6x
  • Monitor model: LG 27UD68-W UHD but looking for a HD replacement
  • Other Zorro cards: Video Toaster, Flyer.

Card seems to operate normally but after installing P96 software (latest version as of October 2025) and the ZZ9000 install and rebooting I try to run the PVS prefs I get an error “No Picasso96 monitor files located” . Not sure where to go from here??

I followed Greg Donner: ZZ9000 Compendium’s install instructions. He states to NOT pick any graphics drivers when asked in the installer. Then the installer asks what kind of graphic boards do you want to use? Greg seems to indicate (I think!) selecting all of them. I did not do this but instead left it blank confusing it with the note to not pick a graphics card driver. Maybe this is where I went wrong??

I found my answer. PVS Prefs does not run on OS3.1. It requires 3.2 or better it seems. Bummer…. But I still get the ZZ9000 modes and will be upgrading soon!

OK…Reply again….. I was confusing P96prefs with PVS. P96prefs requires WB3.2 and PVS still says “No Picasso96 monitor files located”.

Installing 3.2 this week so will report back.
