Any news on the RK3588 upgrade bundles for the Pocket? The shop still says “two months”, same as when I ordered a while ago.

Not sure - that may be the lead time(?) I got my upgrade bundle a while ago, and finally was able to upgrade to the RK3588 yesterday.

The second batch of modules is currently incoming to us with DHL, should arrive in the next few days. I hope we’ll be able to send out a bunch in the next two weeks during the maelstrom of preparing the Reform Next campaign.

Not knowing what the backlog on the upgrade modules is like, if we place an upgrade order now, will it be dispatched with that order?
Given timescales, if possible, it would probably be useful to have the upgrade module for when the machine arrives in the new year.

Hi @selfawaresoup, right now we have 9 unfulfilled open orders for RK3588 upgrades. Yours is number 5 in the queue. While we have all the actual RK3588 iCores in stock, we recently ran out of the carrier/adapter PCBs because some of them failed QA here. I’ve already started a new run but due to Lunar New Year they’re supposed to be shipped to us in 30 days. That’s when we’ll be able to resume shipments of these kits. Thanks for your patience!

hi there, i wanted to pop in and ask when Pocket Reform orders from the MNT shop with the A311D might have another batch getting sent out? i ordered one on christmas (assembly kit, black, with a poster) and i’m REALLY excited for it, so any info available would be greatly appreciated. i sent an email to support a little over a week ago and never heard back, so i figured i’d ask here because the forums seem to be really active.

I’d also really appreciate some clarity. I ordered from the store in October and the site said 2 months. It has been 4 months and I’ve heard nothing about my order. I don’t mind waiting but I’d appreciate more communication about any delays and when to expect it

MNT staff often posts updates on backorders, so I’m sure one is forthcoming. Last I heard the Chinese Lunar New Year caused some delays as the factory wasn’t able to start on their order before the holiday. These are small batch products requiring more hand assembly than your average mass-produced item, so there are lots of potential delays in the process.
Just a suggestion: a scheduled twice-monthly update with current queue sizes and/or expected wait times, and current blockers (waiting on parts etc) would probably help people feel at ease and may reduce the volume of email queries. Even just a shared spreadsheet that’s updated on occasion would be sufficient.

—all rk3588 based orders from our shop are waiting for new rcore (adapter) pcb batch to ship to us from pcbway (eta ~2wks)
—classic mnt reform orders are waiting for 100x motherboard 3.0 assemblies that have 4-6wks eta (very complex sourcing, agreed on bom quote today@pcbway and bought the most expensive chips)
