As was predictable, as I tend to break things, I’ve managed to break both tabs on one of my curved trackball keys. I’ve put the touchpad back in, so not a huge deal, but I really believe the trackball is a superior interface experience.

That thread also has pointers to a github repo with appropriate files so you can 3d print your own replacements.
I haven’t got a 3d printer, but I could order from some online service – has anybody tried that, and did it work? I can keep using the trackpad, but I would like to get this back into functional service if possible.
